The new Hotmail allows improved chat from within your inbox. So whether your friends are online or not, it's easy to stay in touch.
Emails are great. You can compose detailed stories complete with photos, links, funny fonts and even movies before sharing them with all your friends. But sometimes getting an instant message to a friend is all you're after. That's when Messenger chat comes into play.
The new Hotmail allows you to do just that from inside your inbox.
Simply take a look at the left-hand side of your inbox to see who of your friends are online and more importantly, if they're available. From here start an IM conversation by clicking on your chosen friend's name.
When chatting with multiple people, reply by selecting a relevant tab in the conversation window near the bottom of your screen. This new feature takes up less space on your screen and makes it easier to keep track of conversations.
